Oh my goodness, I cannot believe that the end of the 1st 9 weeks is just around the corner! Time has really flown by! I know it has been a long time since I have posted but I have really enjoyed my time with your children! Here are some highlights for each grade from this 1st 9 weeks.
Kinder: They are so silly and fun! Teaching kinder is definitely one of the best parts of my day because they are so filled with joy and energy! If you want to see something silly ask your kindergartener to sing the "Sailor Went to Sea" song and you will definitely get a kick out of it!
1st: They know the "Sailor Went to Sea" song too! It is so much fun to watch them move and sing! ***Important heads up! In February all of your cute little 1st graders are putting on a performance about Nursery Rhymes! They have already been putting in a lot of hard work to prepare! Ask them to show off what they have learned by singing "Little Boy Blue". That's one of their favorites! :)
2nd: We have been learning a lot in 2nd grade! I have enjoyed being able to teach and explore with their eager minds!
If you would like to hear more ask them to "Get out their hand staff" or teach you the "Bow Wow Wow" game
3rd: We have been learning a lot in 3rd grade! I so enjoy teaching this group of third grade! It is such a wonderful age because they are fun and enjoy learning as well as playing! They have had a blast with composing using known rhythmic syllables. Ask them to compose a 4 beat measure for you! You would be surprised how creative they can be!
4th: Oh, 4th grade! Such a crazy time! They are full of energy and so smart! Ask them about "Chicken on a Fence Post". And if you would like to challenge their minds ask them "How many beats is a ta-ka-di-mi" if they say 1 they are right!!!
5th: Oh, 5th grade! Such a crazy time! They are full of energy and so smart! Ask them about "Chicken on a Fence Post". And if you would like to challenge their minds ask them "How many beats is a ta-ka-di-mi" if they say 1 they are right!!!
I will try to blog more frequently! I hope your kiddo is enjoying my music class this year! I am so happy to be here at Woodstone!
HAPPY FALL!!! :)
